Final Remarks

This portfolio is more than an application; it is the culmination of the past four years of my life. As I wrote reflections, my eyes opened; reporting changed me. Every single article, photo, design and video developed me in subtle ways I only unveiled on second look.

Then, I think back to the dozens and dozens of interviews. The places I would have never gone if it weren’t for my journalistic curiosity. The families I touched made all of those late night writing sessions more than worth it.

I am a journalist, that’s that. Every piece of documentation I create becomes part of me. I’m eternally trapped in a cycle of journalistic curiosity, and know there are infinite stories waiting for me outside of high school.

My home is a news room; anywhere I go, journalism will be.

I am a journalist.
